Black Sunbird landscaping is inspired by nature’s palette. The variety of shapes, textures and colours are combined to form living artworks that can be enjoyed by all who visit our garden ‘galleries’.
Designs are personalized according to the clients’ individual lifestyle and preferences, whilst complimenting the building it encompasses.
Ultimately our emphasis is on creating resilient spaces that minimize water and chemical usage and are havens for small wildlife to inhabit or visit.
For many years, physiotherapist Mandy Morton was asked by friends to help them create beautiful gardens. As this was her passion, most of her free time was spent working in her own garden. Over time, she enrolled in various landscaping business and design, horticultural and graphic design courses to help give her the tools to create gardens on a more professional basis.
In 2005, after 17 years of practicing physiotherapy, she felt ready to launch her new career as a landscaper and garden designer. The early days were a sharp learning curve, with most weekends spent pouring over text books and after-hours spent doing quotes, plans and invoices.
Help with labour came from a team of five strong men, who took pride in their work and were also good at doing small irrigation and hard landscaping work. After 7 years of working with her team, Mandy helped set up her foreman in his own labour management and plumbing business.
This team, together with another local garden maintenance business, are subcontracted, together with tried and trusted builders and irrigation specialists to form the help that is needed to implement projects, both large and small.
